Are there sale taxes in Pennsylvania?

Ive heard theres no sales tax, but then some people say that there are sales taxes on purses and electronics. Is that true? Or are there no taxes on anything? What are there taxes on? Thanks!

There's a 6% state sales tax. It doesn't apply to most food or to most clothes other than luxury items or sports clothes. You can find info on the state website re what is and isn't taxed. In the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia areas, there's an additional 1% local sales tax.
