Will I be receive unemployment benefits?

Unemployment benefits 2nd extension. Am i eligible to receive retro pay for the months I was without work?

• I was laid off/fired on 4-25-08. I was receiving unemployment benefits up until week ending 3-14-09. That was the last week I was paid benefits for. I never knew about the 2nd extension for unemployment benefits until this week. Coincidentally I finally got a job that I start on Monday 6-29-09. My question is can I still claim unemployment benefits with the 2nd extension for the weeks ending 3-21-09 to 6-27-09? I sent out the claim form that has the week endings 3-21-09, and 3-28-09 on Tuesday. I had the form sitting on my desk, I just never sent it out cause I thought I had exhausted all my benefits, and there was no amount of distribution on the top of the claim form. I have been trying to get through to EDD, but that is easier said than done. This is for the state of California. Thanks!!!! My question is

  EDD will schedule a telephone interview to ask you why you did not send the claim forms until several months after they were do. Based on your answers during the telephone interview, EDD will decide if you are eligible for benefits for the week endings 3-21-09 and 3-28-09. If they decide that you are eligible, they will send you the benefits for those weeks and additional claim forms for the weeks ending in April, May, and June. If you promptly complete and send those forms, then you will be able to collect for the weeks ending up to Saturday, June 27. If they decide that you are not eligible, you have 20 days to send a letter saying that you appeal. The appeal will be heard by an administrative law judge.
