• Ok, so I was reading around. People were saying that if u filed taxes, and had them deposited onto a prepaid debit card (state AND federal), then ud have 2 wait 4 a paper stimulus check 2 come in the mail... Well, when I had my taxes done @ HR, they asked me personally if I wanted the stimulus rebate put directly onto my hr block emerald card, and I said YES, so thats what im expecting. I guess because I had both rebates (state and fed.) go on that card, that the IRS uses the routing/acct. number to deposit it onto that right? Thats what HR BLOCK said!

  I don't know about the refund cards, but i have a prepaid debit card from accountnow.net and for the last 2 years, my refunds have been direct deposited. As long as there is a routing and account number assigned to the card it will be direct deposited. As for the Emerald Card? I would call 1-800-829-1040 and hit "0" and ask the IRS person about the Emerald card and what your "tax account" in the computer says in regards to your rebate situation(direct deposit or check) This is also on the IRS Website Q. I chose direct deposit for my 2007 tax refund but also requested a Refund Anticipation Loan (RAL) from my preparer. How does that affect my stimulus payment? A. Taxpayers who use RALs or enter into any other loan or financial agreement with their tax professional cannot receive their stimulus payments by Direct Deposit and instead will get a paper check
