Can I register my online website business to file tax ?

I have a new clothing store online that I would like to register to file tax. Is this possible for an online website ? I'm reading up on the IRS website but would like to make sure it's possible.

You may not need an EIN , but I prefer one because I don't want my name address, and SS number given too all vendors on a W-9 and it will be needed if you hire employees.
