What is the rate of sales tax?

What is the current Sales tax rate w.i. USA?

  • What is the current sales tax rate for retail purchases within the USA? Is it still 8.25% or has it gone up without any reason?

  • Answer:

The state sales tax rate in Texas is 6.25%. In most of Texas, the total sales tax rate (including state, local, transit district, etc.) is still 8.25%. In a few places in Texas without any local, transit district, etc., sales tax, it is only 6.25%. And sales taxes do not go up in Texas without any reason. They go up because the government needs more money and Texas has no income tax.
