Answer:
SALES TAX is a tax on sale value of goods sole. If you sell a cell phone for Rs. 10000 and sales tax is 10% you have to collect Rs.1000 and pay. SERVICE TAX is a tax for services rendered. If a cell phone company collects Rs. 10000 from you for proving service and tax is 10% then they have to collcet Rs.1000 and pay. TDS means tax deducted at source. Here tax is deduted by the payer and remited in the name of payee.
