Ordering clothes from the US to Canada?

  • I am from Canada and I want to order clothes online from a store (Forever21) which has stores in Canada but is based in the US (LA, Cali). However, I am nervous of how much customs might cost me. I'm want to order 2 shirts that will cost around $40. The site says it will provide free shipping to Canada, however, I am nervous of how much customs might cost me. The shirts were not made in America so there will probably be duty charges as well. Does anyone have experience ordering clothes from the US?

    You're going to have to pay both the provincial and federal sales tax, on the total amount of the goods purchased (converted to Canadian dollars), when you pick it up at the post office. That's all you have to worry about. Hopefully this helps.
