Question about injured spouse refund?

• my husband and i filed jointly and we got a letter back saying something about a debt of mine is trying to collect from it and that we can file a injured spouse application. i had a part time...and i mean very part time job and my refund was only supposed to be 6 dollars his was much much higher. ive been left in charge to fill out this form lol, and i guess my question is do we claim him as the injured spouse or me?? so it doesnt take my debt from our refund??

  If it's your debt then he would be the injured spouse. If he was the one making most of the income then by filing this form you would probably get most of your refund since he is the one entitled to the money and the debt is yours. We had this problem last year, but since the debt was my husband's and I didn't make much money that year we didn't qualify to fill out the form, even though we were told we did. I hate the IRS lol.
