How do I reclaim Canadian Tax paid as a UK citizen?

  • I live in the UK. After doing some work in Canada, my employer deducted tax and paid it to the Canadian government. The employer later sent me an NR4 – Statement of amounts credited to non-residents of Canada – form. I'm unfamiliar with what I'm supposed to do with this, any help on what I do next would be very appreciated.

  • Answer:

You will take a Foreign Tax Credit on your UK tax return for the income tax. The CCP and UI deductions are non-refundable.
