Whats the income tax rate in Alberta, Canada?

• Just wondering about what the income tax is on certain income brackets? I'm looking more into the lower end of income; so under 25k? I, sadly as a struggling student, make anywhere from 10k-15k so what can I expect to get taxed on that? Anyone care to work it out into a monthly thing? This is in Alberta, Canada so please take all taxes into account. Thanks,

  It depends on how often you are paid, and what you take home each pay period. The tables are designed in such a way that they make assumptions about how much you will earn over the year. Therefore, if you earn all of your money in a short period of time, like over the summer months, the amount of tax withheld by the tables will be higher than if you have a steady rate of income. At the end of the year, it doesn't matter, but you seem to want to know what you'll be paid, so it might make more sense for you to do the calculating. This is often a way that people who don't make a lot end up owing at the end of the year.
