When my new employer gives me TD1 tax forms, is it for this year or last year?
-
On the form, I have to put my tuition amounts for the months I am in school. I just started this job and I have 2 months left of school. Do I declare 2 months worth, or the whole past year? Or is it for the next tax year? (I'm Canadian, these are Canadian tax forms)
-
Answer:
A TD1 is for the upcoming year. it tells the company how much tax to withhold. You put your expected tuition for 2009 tax year.
