Tax I am wanting to know what is the tax rate for working a part time 2nd job/?
-
I work full time looking to get a part time 2nd job what is the amount of tax you pay on a 2nd job? Is it really 50% of the money you earn in the 2nd job or something else?
-
Answer:
On a second job you are not entitled to claim the tax free threshold (this is the first $6000 tax free). The tax rate is not 50% though. On a second job you are taxed at 15 cents for each dollar you earn from the first dollar through to $35000. From $35000 the rate of tax rises to 30 cents for every dollar over $35000. Good luck with finding that second job.
