Boss dont want me to pay tax,, he want to pay CASH!!?
-
Ok here goes, i have a job as a kitchen hand, dishwashing, cleaning, cutting fruit and veg, etc. The boss pay me $11.50 an hour for about 10 hours a week. the minimum wage is 13.50. But i want him to put me into the book so i can pay tax and work "legally" but he said that can be difficult (he save money by giving me cash, if i keep insisting he would prob sack me). So im realy scared if tax people come in and check. Final question, if i try to find another job, should i put my currrent job as kitchen hand in my CV or not? will the new boss contact the tax office regarding my prior job in which i have not paid tax? Currently some company have called me for interview for some other jobs (carer). should i tell them tat i lied for my kitchenhand job (im scared if they refer this to the tax office) or should i just go on with it and said yes i have work there, or should i delete it from my CV? i get cash only! no payroll, or slip Sorry for the long commment, any advice, tips thanx alo

Answer:
there is no harm in mentioning this job in your CV, cause after all, your CV's all about your past working experiences and the more on there, the more attractive it's gonna make your CV, right? I don't think people interviewing you will go to the extend and call up your current employer and check with them whether what you've put down is true. even if they do, they're not gonna be asking them 'is he on your books?', that's just a silly question.

Don't worry. Go for it and get a better paid and legit job. No future employer is going to be at all interested in whether your last boss paid tax from your wages or not.

This sucks? Are you Australian? Or in the States? I would get out of that situation. CV? Kitchen aid? If you are working those kind of jobs I don't think you need a resume, not in the states anyway! Good luck! Call your local state tax rep. They can tell you.

He is paying you "under the table" for his benefit. You should set aside a little each paycheck, for taxes. (if you plan to report this on your taxes). If you do not plan to report it, forget about it. I would go to the intervies and just tell them he is paying you as contract labor. That means You are responsible for your own taxes. It is better for you if They pay you as a 1040
