What are the 16+ working hours?

Tax credits help with child care and working 16 hours.?

• I have recently come back after maternity, ihave told my manager that i can do 16 hours as of before, she has been putting me down for 16 hours. I only ever look at my wage on my wageslip but yesterday i had a look atthe other numbers and saw that it said i had worked 14 and half hours, i asked my manager and she said its because they take my 3 dinners off my hours during the week which is 30mins a day (i work 3 days). I am now stressing because my partner works full time and i have been sending my children to nursery 2 days a week and been claiming childcare and stated i work 16 hours a week, it is agenuine mistake and im scared they will ask for everything back, im really confused to how its worked out, have i been working my 16 hours or not :S x

  I'm not sure what you are worrying about because the Tax Credit is based on your family income so your partners working hours and wages are part of the calculation, it's not just based on you.
