Can I claim my petrol money back now or is the tax year over?
-
I do care work, and my employer said that i can claim 40p per mile for petrol. But someone has told me its too late now as the tax year is over? is this true?

Answer:
You have 6 years in which to make an expenses claim to HMRC. You cannot claim back the 40p pm but you can claim tax relief on this. You need to set out your claim clearly in a ltter to HMRC and send it with your P60 to your tax office.
