What benefits do pregnant women get and whatare working tax benefits please?
-
What are all the benefits that a pregnant woman is entitled to? Does she still get benefits if she is working?
-
Answer:
Pregnant women aren't entitled to any specific benefit, you can claim JSA if your out of work but you will have to be seeking work until you begin your maternity leave, the earliest being 29 weeks. They may be entitled to maternity allowance if you have worked within the last year and paid NI for a certain amount of time. Housing benefit tohelp towards rent. If your working then none, unless its a very low income where you'd get housing benefit. Working tax credits are for people who work but are still on a low income. You have to be over 25 to claim these until the baby is brn where the age goes down to 18 but you would need to be working at least 16 hours a week.
