What import duty should I expect to pay on a guitar imported from the US to the UK, worth $680 + delivery?
-
I am interested in purchasing a guitar from the US but want to know an estimate of what the final price will be...this much I know: Guitar: $680 (£430) VAT: 17.5% Delivery: £50-60 The advice on import duty from HM Revenue & Customs site is indecipherable as far as I am concerned...any advice would be appreciated!! For interests sake, the guitar retails at £750 in the UK.

Answer:
I would guess another 10% (£45) or so ... It's not unusual to discover, after Delivery & Import Duty & VAT, that the imported cost is greater than the UK retail cost ....
