Are taxes higher in PA or OH?

I moved from OH to pa, and paid taxes to both pa and ohio while i should've only be taxed for pa. what do i do

  • in 2007, I moved from OH to Pa, and paid taxes to both PA and ohio for 2 months during relocation when I should've been only taxed by PA. How do I get back the money I paid to ohio becuase I wasn't living there or worked there during those 2 months.

  • Answer:

In most cases, if you lived in two or more states during a tax year, you will pay taxes in both states based on the length of time you lived in each state. (If you live in IL for 3 months and in IN for 9 months, you pay 25% of the tax due to IL and 75% of the tax due to IN. OH and PA probably work the same way.)
