Me and my partner are on tax credits but I am out of work, Can I claim jobseekers allowance?
-
My partner works so she gets tax credits but originally we claimed as a couple. Now I am not working so not sure if I can claim jobseekers. Anyone done this before
-
Answer:
Yes you can. You need to inform Tax Credits (TC) of your change of circumstances. If you claim Contributions based job seekers allowance then this will be taken into account on your tax credit annual declaration. If it is income based job seekers then you will not need to declare this as income to HMRC.
