How do you report someone for tax evasion?

  • He now lives in Australia and i know he doesn't want to come back as he owes the tax man huge amounts,who can i report it to?

    If he is living in Australia, there isn't much tax office can do. The Double Taxation Act only covers tax in relation to a dual residency, and which country should deal with it. HMRC can't proceed with recovery proceedings unless he still has assets in this country. Any tax debt he has never goes away. You don't need too, the HM C&E man will do. There is a tax treaty between the UK and Australia. If the value is big enough they will go out there and find him. Otherwise, jsut call HM Customs and Excise and report him, you can call your local tax office

Write to your nearest Tax Office - try http://hmrc.gov.uk/enq to find this. Give them as much information as possible. You will then have to leave it up to them - no information will be given to you.

you need to get in touch with inland revenue,however if he has left the country there is not much chance of anything being done. You also need proof,as in documents ledgers that type of thing

lol he left the country for a reason, because they cant claim if hes abroad, apparently hes thought this through more than you have...
