If i hire an overseas company to do my web design do i need to pay import tax on the product?

i have hired a company in china to do some design work for my website, and was just wondering if i need to pay import tax or anything like that?

Only if you import the work .. if your web site is hosted on some Server outside EU, then (I would suggest) 'no'

If you are (or are required) to be VAT registered, you would need to account for VAT in the UK via the 'reverse charge'.
