I want to start an online Business But am Employed full time...Tax, Vat help plz?

Hello There, I am planning to start my own online Business, I have a full ime job. I would need to apply for a Business name and a VAT number so I can buy products on wholesale prices. Any idea on how to go about it? what kind of tax would I have to pay? Do I need to register for a Business name or can I just get a VAT number first so I can get started off? Any help would be muh appreciated. Regards, Faz
