Can Self Assessment Tax Be Paid Monthly?

I have issued my self assessment and have over paid on my tax, does it take long for them to pay out?

    If you have filed this "online" IE over the Internet you should firstly receive an acknowledgement to confirm it has been filed successfully. If you have elected to have the repayment straight into your bank account then you should have it within a couple of days, however if by cheque it may be a week or so. At this time of the year they will have relatively few to process and so you should not have to wait long hope this helps

That depends entirely on the tax office that serves you, how efficiient the tax officers are and what their backlog is .. [their favourite excuse] I've found that regular contact with them , keeping them on their toes and making sure they dont forget you, a beneficial excercise for refunds.

I used to work in a tax office and some peoples claims for rebates could take months, the majority of payouts go through within about 4-6 weeks if not sooner.

Keep pestering them! You may have to request it back or they will keep it to set against next year. But generally it shouldn't take more than 2/3 weeks.
