Why is my package stuck in customs COVENTRY PF?

  • yeah so basically package arrived in the UK on the 7th of december. on parcel force it says: 07-12-2011 13:49 International Hub Awaiting Customs clearance 07-12-2011 13:48 International Hub Received in destination country 04-12-2011 22:35 Delivery Agent - GUANGZHOU - PTT Forwarded for export 03-12-2011 08:31 Delivery Agent - CHINA Collected from customer ITS PROBS COZ OF CHRISTMAS SO YEAH WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE KNOWS ANYTHING. cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeers

    It's just stuck in the queue. with it being christmas, things will take a little longer...though 7 days is a tad excessive of a delay, most i've had is 5 days. Once it goes through customs you'll likely find there is a customs charge on the package that you'll need to pay (and it'll likely show as being at a regional office) What happens next will determine how quickly you get the package. Once if goes to the "fee" stage, what normally happens is a letter goes out to you with a reference number that allows you to pay the customs charge. This can take another 2 days. As soon as you see if go to "awaiting fee", RING up the post office. You will be able to pay for the fee over the phone at this point (or get the fee reference number so you can pay online)

If the value is more than around £14 you will receive notification that VAT plus a customs charge of around £8 will have to be paid before its delivered, this applies to any goods of that value imported from outside the EC.
