Working tax credit at 16/17?

  • Im 16, ill be 17 in two weeks and i was wondering can i get working tax credit in northern ireland at 16/17??? I have a part time job and am curently studying at tech, but things are going wrong at home and i can no longer see myself staying as its just got so bad i can't see a way to make it better. I wanna move out and leave tech to support myself , i have no idea where i am gonna go, but it needs to be done. I work mininum 8 hours a week and maximum 24 hours a week. If i can claim working tax credit or get help some way how do i go about it? Thank you so much!

Not as far as I am aware, unless you have kids. If you are single, you need to be over 25 and be working 30 hours a week! At 16/17, your parents are still responsible for you, and unless you can get them to *officially* kick you out (write an official letter to the job centre stating they have kicked you out) , you won't be able to claim help with rent either. Pop down your local job centre or CAB for some advice.
