How to get sponsorship by employers in the UK?

Would workers in the UK get a decent wage if employers?

  • employed them instead of using staff agencies for recruitment.I picked up details of seven jobs i am interested in and "qualified" to do at the jobcenter yesterday and six of them were through staff agencies who as we all know charge the employers say £15 an hour then pay the employee as little as the minimum wage.In my view these agencies are raking it in at the expence of the worker AND the employer ,an example would be the use of agency nurses in hospitals where a agency nurse will work shifts on a ward (having never been there before in their lives) and it costs that particular hospital double the amount its costs for regular staff . Where i live the binman gets £7.80 working for the council for emptying bins the council now uses staff agencies and new binmen get £6.00 an hour but the cost to the council paying the agency is double that.

    I used to work in a factory and they regularly used employment agencies, I was a chargehand and the temp staff were on more basic wage than I was. So for all the pressure and responsibility I had I was earning less than someone who wasn't as fast and didn't know the job, it's very unfair.

To be totally honest the minimum wage is a joke with rising prices of food and energy is it any wonder people want to stay on benefits i am out from work with stress due to being bullied and i am trying to find a new job i have experience in reception and switchboard i have had interviews but no offers our so called MIPS should be voted out including gordon brown he is useless and so is alistair darling

The problem is some people need to or like to be flexible with their work and as an agency worker they can choose not to work if they want to. But yes i do think sometimes agency staff are not necessary. IE; where i work pays agency cleaners who who do a bad job over which we have no control because we don't have the power to hire and fire the agency staff.

agreed, i have lots of agencies working in my building and some of those guys are on six figure incomes!

I don't think rip off Britain cares that they use slave labour no doubt the agencies are just their to line the pockets of the council.
