When was redundancy pay first introduced?

Redundancy Pay - Help with info please?

  • My mother is being made redundant, and has been told that she will not be paid her redundancy for the first two years of service. is this correct? So, she has worked there for 6 years, but her redundancy package is only worth 6 weeks pay (at 1.5 weeks per year worked there) as opposed to 9 weeks. is this true? Also, is the redundancy pay calculated on pre tax or post tax wage? I have tried to call ACAS, but they are very busy and was on hold for 34 mins Thanks
