Do people in the UK get paid less than the people in USA?

• I live in Honolulu, HI, USA and the cost of living is high but not as high as London. I know the dollar is weaker right now which is why everything seems double the price when an American travels to London. If prices are double, do the people get paid more? I am currently going for a Marketing degree, I am not done completing my degree but I am qualified in getting an entry level job as a Marketing Assistant that gets paid $41, 500 a year. Would I get paid 41, 500 pounds a year if I moved to London getting the same job?

  $41,500 equates to roughly £26,430 at the present time. Getting a job in London is very difficult for the Londoners let alone people from outside. Unless you can prove you have a skill that is in short supply here in the UK I would not consider even trying.
