Where should I buy my Duty Free items?

I want to buy separate acrylic nail items form China, but want to know if I am going to pay duty and vat.?

  • Hi, I am going to be purchasing acrylic liquid, powder and nail art brushes from China through Ebay. I live in the UK so I want to know if I am going to have to pay import vat and customs duty. This is for my personal use and the total adds upto £3.75 (including P&P). Thank you for all your answers:)

    Customs Duty mostly depends on quantity and the perceived value (as opposed to the price you actually paid). £3.75 including postage doesn't suggest something of very high value. If you were buying quantities enough for a business or to resell, that could be different. I think you have nothing to worry about.
