Can I get another solar federal tax credit if I move?

I claim tax credit and just found out im pregnant!?

• I am with my partner but we do not live together. I claim the lower part of tax credit at 36.00 a month do you know if i can get any help such as the pregnancy grant. I work 32.5 hours a week and earn 877.00 after tax. My boyfriend is going to SUPPORT child but i need to know how much he needs to give me to keep CSA off his back. We are going to get married and move in together and i know it will then change but this is not possible yet. So just need some help in the mean time :-)

  I am totally confused! You are going to marry this man but are querying the involvement of the CSA! If he is paying for his child then there should be no need to involve them. The first thing that is suggested is that you make an agreement between yourselves. The CSA should really only be used if he is refusing to pay or its erratic or you can't decide on an amount. With regards to the pregnancy grant you can claim it for your first child but is dependent on your circumstances ie your income etc. Check out the tax credits website that gives a list of requirements. Until you actually have the baby or your income changes there isn't much more that you are going to get in the meantime. Once the child is born you will get child benefit (about £80 a month), you will get maternity pay from your employer and may be entitled to tax credits, at this stage they will see what you earn and will ask what your partner contributes. My understanding is that he needs to contribute and if he doesn't at this stage they would look at this and the CSA would probably get involved.
