Tax question about injured spouse form no longer needed?
-
I had a defaulted student loan the previous last 3 years. I just consolidated my loan (because I am going back to school) and the consolidation was complete as of February 2nd. In order to get part of income tax refund returned the previous 3 years we filed an "Injured spouse" form since my husband was the only one working. My question is. We want to start doing our taxes but are we going to have to file another injured spouse form this year even though my loan is now consolidated?

Answer:
Call 1-800-304-3107 and see if the flag is still set. If it is, you need the injured spouse form.
