What happens if u put the wrong zip code?

I put the wrong zip code in my tax refund but the right address city and state?

  • I typed my address with the wrong zip code I put and it doesn't show any other address but mine.the wrong zip code I put is actually like 30 minutes away .think it'll get it mailed to my house with wrong zip code

    Eventually it will get to you. If you chose direct deposit it would not cause a problem.

The post office sorts mail primarily by zip code. That's why zip codes were created in the first place. So it will probably be delayed because it will go to the post office in that zip code first, and when they try to deliver it they will realize the address is in another city so they'll forward it. It will eventually get to you, but it will probably take an extra week or two in the mail. If you took direct deposit it won't matter anyway.

If you used direct deposit for your refund it will not matter. If you are getting a check it will probably delay it 3-4 weeks.
