I'm confused about how money I will receive on my 2008 Tax Rebate. Please help..?
-
I understand so far that I will be receiving $600 for myself but I did claim my daughter as a dependent in my 07' tax return. She is a full time college student and is 23 this year, when she filed her taxes made less than $2,000. How much will my rebate be?

Answer:
$600 if that's what you're entitled to, i.e. your tax liability was at least $600. Your daughter is too old for you to receive the $300 kicker for dependent children. That's limited to children who were UNDER age 17 as of Dec 31, 2007. She won't receive anything herself as dependents are not eligible; and she didn't make enough to qualify anyway even if she was not a dependent.

Your daughter is 23 old, therefore, she needs to file her own tax document. You can't be recipient of tax rebate.

You will receive UP TO $600, but will receive nothing regarding your daughter. Dependents must be under 18 as of Dec. 31, 2007. Also you can go to the IRS web site and figure your rebate amount.

You get UP TO $600 - the $600 is for people whose federal income tax liability for 2007 was at least that much. Otherwise you get the amount of the tax, with a minimum of $300 assuming that you qualify for the stimulus payment. The extra $300 for children is only for those under age 17, so no you won't get extra for your daughter. So your rebate will be somewhere between $300 and $600, depending on how much tax liability you had for 2007

If your daughter is a dependent you will get up to $300. But if she filed Taxes also how could you file her on your taxes. Well good luck.

You will get up to 600 dollars for yourself only. It is up to 600 depending on your tax liability. Your daughter is over the age of 17 therefor you won't recieve anything for her.

You will not get rebate for the dependent. Your rebate will be $300 to $600. The rebate payment will equal the amount of tax liability on the return (tax liability on the return Form 1040 line 46 or Form 1040A line 28) with a minimum amount of $300 and a maximum amount of $600 for individuals. For information on stimulus tax rebate schedule, the eligibility and how much rebate you will get read: http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/02/are-you-eligible.html

You wont get anything for her. She would have had to be under 17 for you to get any rebate for her.
