Does anyone know where to get a background check done for free?

Has anyone heard of some deal where you can get your taxes done for free if you made less than 30K?

  • I live in Chicago and I remember seeing an ad at a bus shelter about two weeks ago stating that if you made less than $30,000 in the last year, you could get your taxes done for free. Does anyone know what this is all about and possibly the URL? I recall the ad had a URL on it, but I haven't seen the ad since.

yes you can. I do it every year! You have to link through the irs site. Go to www.irs.gov and click on FREE FILE, then from there you can choose a tax prep company & if you qualify you can efile for free! sometimes even your state taxes can be done for free

I know exactly what you are talking about. My accounting teacher was telling me how he volunteers and helps out by doing peoples taxes that make less then 30k. I am pretty sure he said its starts in a month or so, and the one he helps at is in Aurora by the Casino boat. Do you live in a cave dude. Go to turbo tax, its free and easy.

If you have a simple return there is a free version of Turbo Tax that you can use. If you start turbo tax and it turns out your return is too complicated to qualify for the free version, then it will still handle your taxes, you'd just have to pay for the software before you can submit your return or print the forms.

I don't know if this is the one you heard of, but www.taxact.com is totally free, and I don't think it has any limits on income either.
