Tax refund Direct Deposit?

*Tax question* Did you receive your refund on a Friday? (Direct deposit)?

  • I used Turbo tax this year. The IRS received and accepted my return on Feb 4th 2009. According to the IRS cycle chart, I should receive my refund by direct deposit on Feb 13th (Friday). Also, Turbo tax stated that was the date as well. However, when I checked the status on "where's my refund" (IRS website) they stated I would receive the refund by Feb 17th, which is a Tuesday. Are the direct deposits sent on Fridays? I think they may be giving a couple days for the bank to accept the transaction. **If you requested direct deposit did you receive your check on a Friday?** Thank you in advance.

    Go by what it says when you call. The ecycle chart this year is wrong in many cases and the WMR site has had its own set of problems. The most reliable source of info is calling the refund hotline. Also consider that "you should receive your refund by" is not a statement of when the refund will deposit. It will usually (but not always) hit your bank on a Friday. However, banks have 3 days to post the money to your account after it is received.

Not always. My husband's return was deposited on Feb 3rd which was I believe a Tuesday.

actually go by the day the wmr says, instead of what turbo tax or the chart say.i receive my refund on the the exact date the wmr stated the IRS deposits any day no just fridays...

I had this same exact question! What we've concluded is that WMR says you should have it "By Feb 17th"...keyword being "by". I think that allows for banks that take some days to process. Usually I get my refunds on the scheduled Fridays, and I'm hoping it's no different this time, even if my WMR says by the Feb 17th! Good luck to us all! haha

that is the same thing I'm getting I filed 02/03 accepted 02/04 by the IRS filed with TurboTax TT says DD day will be the 13th the IRS Chart says the 13th but where's my Refund says it is being processed........and DD 17th if you call them they tell you the 20th??????????? what day is it now?? so I did hear now from several people that they DD all week long instead of just Fridays due to new systems?????
