Do I have to report my tax refund to welfare?

2009 Report of State Income Tax Refund?

  • I just received this document in the mail. It says here that it is about tax year 2009. I am a bit confused about what this is honestly. I think I'll just type here what it says and if any of you could tell me what is it that I am supposed to do I would appreciate it =). "Box 2. Shows refunds, credits,or offsets of state or local income tax you received. It may be taxable to you if you have deducted the state or local income tax paid on Schedule A. Even if you did not receive the amount shown, for example, because it was credited to your state or local income tax, it is still taxable if it was deducted. If you received interest on this amount, you should receive Form 1099-INT for the interest. However, the payer may include interest of less than $600 in the blank box on Form 1099-G. Regardless of whether the interest is reported to you, report it as interest income on your tax return. See your tax return for instructions.

  • Answer:

That kind of means that the IRS is going to do an audit on you pretty soon. Their system has detected unreported income or income that was not reported iby you in 2009. The IRS has their ways of finding out about tax evasion. Talk with Wesley Snipes who is serving like 3 years in penitentiary for tax evasion . . . Nicholas Cage is likely to be next.
