How can I find out the total revenue for Sales tax in a specific state for the year 2008?
-
I was doing sales tax work today in my office and wanted to know -- each state has a sales tax % that we pay on things we buy. For Pennsylvania's it is a 6.0 % sales tax. I know that the money you pay in sales tax goes to the state to pay for statewide needed things. I really want to know though, what the total revenue profit was for sales tax in general and how much the states are bringing in from sales alone? Any links to give me for me to look that up?

Answer:
The comptroller web site for each State should have that info posted.
