Must I declare my profits from FX trading for tax purposes?

Do I need to declare a state residency for income tax purposes?

  • I moved to Colorado last summer, but somehow my residency was not declared. Therefore, I paid a full year's state income tax to my last state (AZ). Do I just need to file a part-year return in each state or do I need to officially declare a residency first? I'm theoretically due a refund in AZ and owe money to CO.

  • Answer:

You dont declare residency. For each state you live in during the year you must check their rules for resident and nonresident and file accordingly.
