Why did Wheres My Refund change?

Tax refund date changed to april 24 2012?

  • the "wheres my refund" date was set for march 13 2012, didnt get a deposit yesterday so i checked and the date was changed to april 24 2012!!!! the original date of march 13 said it was processed, now it says it is being processed. Why the change and has any one else experienced this?

    yes lots of people have experienced a delay this tax season, due to the Irs changing their efile system. I am a tax professional and I have had to explain why the big mess. is the new system was supposed to catch fraud and be more efficient. little did we know the Irs would tell us to stop transmitting because they were backed up and the new system was failing mid season they decided to go back to the old way of doing things and everything seems to be working out much smoother now. please don't be mad at your preparer, it's honestly not their fault.

I experienced the same thing. My initial date was March 7. Then it changed to March 20, followed by no date, followed by no record of the return, March 12, no date, no record, April 24. My electronic return was accepted by the IRS on 2/26, and I'm losing hope of receiving my refund in the advertised 10-21 days. Makes me wonder how much the government paid for this new and improved system.....
