Will I be eligible to collect unemployment benefits?

Will he collect anymore unemployment benefits?

  • My husband was laid off after 4 years of employment with no warning or heads up. He filed his claim on Jan 9th of 2009 and started collecting benefits after the waiting week period and has cont. to do so. I have called and called for some help in understanding the extension programs, but they have been so very rude! THEY SHOULD UNDERSTAND THAT THEY ARE STILL AMONG THE AMERICANS STILL EMPLOYED, AND BE A BIT MORE CONSIDERATE OF THOSE WHO ARE NOT! I have not been able to find anything out as far as when his benefits will end. His current claim state's BENEFIT YEAR 01/17/2010 BENEFIT YEAR ENDING 01/17/2011 I have no idea what that means? IF there is anyone that could enlighten me I would be truly grateful:) Thank for taking the time to read this and your help! WE LIVE IN NORTH CAROLINA [email protected]

ok...he is okay til his tier 2 runs out....in early june congress will probably approve tier 3 and 4...6 weeks and 13 weeks...then, depending on your state unempl pct...he will get another 20 weeks...again this is all contingent on congress passing hr 4851 in early june...there are millions of sites regarding tiers and there explaination...just google them and take 5 minutes to understand them...actually have hubby do that...he is the one unemployed and has the time...
