How do i open my renault megane 2004 with the key in the key card?

  • My renault key card has problem opening the doors so i was wondering how do i open the door with the key that is inside the card. In the beginning i couldn't find the hole :) but finally found it at the passengers door. Now the problem is how do i get the key inside the hole which btw is vertical. Am i missing something?

    put the key blade into the slot under neath the cover on the passengers side door handle and GENTLY prise it upwards!! will come off quite easily, then just turn key in lock underneath. if alarm sound, putting keycard into reader will turn this off

If it's the same as the Laguna, you have to pull the plastic cover off (next to the passenger door handle) and then you just stick it in the keyhole and turn. The slot in the bottom of the cover is just to help you get it off.

Hiya, This is a confusing issue with this type of lock - Follow this step on whichever door you wish to open. Take out emergency key - at the end of the door handle, where they older keyholes would normally be positioned. look underneath the door handle, there is a recess - Using the key, insert it into the recess, lever/flip/twist the key in this recess somewhat (they should pop off quite readily) - Once this is done, use the emergency key in the newly revealed lock -WARNING THIS WILL NOT DE-ACTIVATE YOUR ALARM -YOU NEED YOUR KEYFOB FOR THIS. yes remove the cap on the pass side, its got a small symbol on it. the cap covers the lock. BUT are you sure this is not just because you are not pressing the fob twice to open the boot.
