How do I change the front speakers in my car?

Does anyone know how to change the wire which connects to the front speakers in a 52 plate fiat punto active?

• on the front drivers side in my car the wire which connects to the speaker isn't working and i want to upgrade my speakers but theres no point if one doesnt work. can anybody tell me how to get to the wire and how to change it? i know it's definatly the wire because i tested my working speaker in the drivers side and it didnt work. Thankyou :)

  It would involve opening the harness from the door all the way to the back of the radio. Not advisable as you could create other problems. You would have to run another pair of wires (you did test two right?) from the radio to the door following the same path being careful not to cut, crush or entangle anything. With all this effort if it is truly the wire it would be far simpler to inspect the existing wire run to discover where the fault lies. All said I seriously doubt it is the wire at all despite your test. Pull the radio, you'd have to be doing this anyway, and test right at the harness exiting the radio. I'm betting you'll discover it is the radio itself that is knackered. Your test, although a good start to eliminate the speaker as the fault, is inconclusive.
