I am thinking back and I am wondering if he doesn't get you anything else, is he on the same wave length as you. I think since you are just good friends and are just going to the dance that I would keep it simple and maybe make him some brownies and get him a cute card, not too mushy so as to scare him off. Since I do not know if you have dated before, this is hard to answer. But, some brownies or just a very small box of chocolates, turtles, or the mini size Russell Stover with only but 4-5 pieces and a cute card would do it. He can put this in his pocket. How are you getting to the dance. Can he drive. Do you want to make a big presentation to him getting into the car or out of it. Here I go, it sounds like he wants to keep it simple, are you getting carried away just because it is Valentine's Day?? And to be honest not mean are you really bf and gf or just one of my best friends as you state in your question. There are too many things not said, so I would go with just a card. If he gets you something more that is o.k. since V. Day is normally more thought of for girls than a guy. Also, you can also have a small box of candy in your purse for security backup if yoi meed it. There is only one way and that is to ask some of his friends but even though they say o.k. they may go back and tell him that you were asking and this will have him thinking well maybe I should do something. To keep the whole thing from getting so confusing, just don't ask anyone, get the card and have the candy in your purse. Hope this helps.
