Am I overreacting about what my boyfriend wants to do on Valentines day?
-
Okay my boyfriend of 3 months wants to take me out to a hotel for valentines day. I am still a virgin and I want to keep it that way, he says that we are just going to fool around for a few hours and leave, no sex. He says he gots a few other things he wants to do but I dont know if i feel comfortable going to a hotel just to do that..he told me that if i dont pick the hotel then the rest of the plans will be ruined that day...I was thinking more of dinner and some flowers. This will be my first valentines day with a bf, i wanted to get him something but he told me no because he may not get me anything. I really am not expecting anything in return I just want flowers to feel special i guess, I never got anything for valentines day before i and always hated when girls at my high school would walk around with flowers, candy boxes and hugh teddybears. I always wished that i ccan feel that special, but i guess thats not going to happen..do you think i am being selffish? am i overacting on the hotel idea?

Answer:
It's your virginity. It's not wrong to over react on this one. I wouldn't go if your not ready for something to happen.

Don't go. It could turn out really bad. Going to a hotel is not appropriate and he knows it. He just wants what he wants.

if you dont want to do it, dont do it

i dont think your over reacting. i think its best not to put your self in a position that might cause you to do things you dont want to do. if you go to the hotel, you might get caught up in the moment, or you might feel like you HAVE to do "whatever" with your bf just because your there. just tell him that you dont feel comfortable with that at the moment and dinner would be nice. if he doesnt accept that then he's not worth it! on the present side, i would get him something little. most guys say "no i dont want anything" but they secretly do! plus like you said, your getting it for him because you want to, NOT because you want something in return. good luck, hope it all works out for you!

If you aren't comfortable doing something, then you shouldn't have to do it! It's not fair of your boyfriend to try and guilt you into doing something you are not comfortable with. It is entirely up to you to what happens to your body. If he doesn't respect your comfort zones, then he isn't worth dating. I would suggest sitting him down and talking about what you are and are not comfortable with, and the stage of your relationship, and how you feel about what he is trying to do.

Okay, really, who rents out a hotel room for a night just to "fool around" with no sex? If I know guys, he's probably hoping you will let down your guard once you get into it. Also, I don't know how skipping the hotel should ruin any other plans he has (unless those plans involve...you know). My advice is to tell him that you don't feel comfortable with the hotel and would prefer to go out to dinner. If he still won't let up on the hotel idea, it would seem to me that he cares more about your body than your feelings.
