Should we hav a secular rational division of holidays and divide the circle of the year into 4 exact quarters?

  • as the solstices and equinoxes apply globally, it would seem logical to adopt them as the designated quarter points. they fall every 91 days/13 weeks. ever since i can remember the stupid system we have has annoyed me! it is logical to me to divide the year into opposite halfs and then quarters then months weeks days. i feel i never quite know where i am in the year because of the irratiional nature of the holidays. whenever i do a task or travel a distance i mentally tick off thestages in halves and quarters: first point i am a quarter of the way there... second point..i am half way there and only have to do the same as ive already done to get to the finish. third point..ive only got a quarter to go. to me,quarter points which break up the year into 4 time periods of exactly the same duration and provide 4 logical resting points or holiday seasons, and give me the ideal way of breaking up the year in my mind. does anyone else feel this way?
