What does it mean when a girl says that your their valentine?

I am in grade 7 in middle school and there is this girl in this class that said I was her valentine...? I was with my friend and she was with her 2 other friends and she said to me that I was her valentine and i said okay, does it mean she likes me or something? What would I buy her? Does is mean that on the valentine day dance she'll dance with me?

Yea she will dance with you at the dance and you should buy her like a Gigantic Teddy Bear or a medium sized one. Also you can never go wrong with chocolates. Last year this dude got me a rose. You can try that too.
