Should I buy my house mate flowers for Valentine's day?
-
Hello, I was talking about Valentine's day with my house mate the other day (she is female, I am male) and she said she doesn't like it, she said its just another reason to buy things. She also added that there is nothing girls can buy boys. Which I can understand, but the tone she said it was very sad/angry. This made me feel sorry for her and now I would like to buy her some flowers and get them delivered to the school where she teaches at. Do you think I should? I wouldn't put my name on there so at least she would have to work it out who would have sent them, also I forgot to mention; she is single. I think she has been for a while too. I am also fairly sure she likes me but she is unsure of how to act upon it. I didn't want it to be weird, and I would be happy if she accepted them as a friendly gesture, however if I was to score some points with her I won't mind ;), but if it was to be weird its ok because I'm moving out 2 days after Valentine's day anyway. The other thing is that I actually have two house mates; which are both girls. No offense to the other girl; she isn't very attractive so I could only assume that she possibly hasn't gotten flowers for a while, hence she would also like some. Though the main reason I wouldn't buy them both flowers is that its to darn expensive! Its not that I don't want to get them both some, its just that the one I want to buy them for seemed sad, the other one doesn't talk to me as much and she keeps to her self a little more. And it wouldn't have the same meaning to the girl I want to buy them for if I got them both some, get what I mean? Would she be offended if I didn't get them both some? Do you think I should buy one set of flowers? Do all girls like getting flowers? Is it best to get them sent to her work? Especially because I thought it best that she gets them at the start of the day so she can have all day to ponder them (or what ever it is girls do).

Answer:
buy them both a small flowering plant. you can get these pretty cheaply. that way it's not creepy to the one girl or awkward for her. and it's not extra depressing for the other girl. and it's possible, being plants, if kept alive will flower more and be happy for them longer.
