My boyfriend, his mom, and valentines day?
-
So my boyfriend and I have just gotten back together at the end of december after being apart for several months. we figured out that we really did want to be together and so on. Before the break up we were together for like 6 months. this sunday is valentine's day and never in my life have i had a real valentine and im 21 years old. i know alot of people think its corny and its just another day but im a girl and i want to be taken out and get some damn roses like any other girl. sooo my boyfriend told me yesterday that we are going to go out this saturday. i asked him why saturday, sunday is valentines day not saturday. he said because him and his younger brother and sister are taking his mom out for valentines day at night so he said hes taking me out sunday and then we'd spend half the day sunday together. okay i understand all of this but i dont like it. my boyfriend is VERY close to his mother. he is the first child and the man of the house. his father left while he was young and his mom depends on him to be the man of the house basically. they are more like best friends too. she loves me and everything but i just feel unimportant. i dont want to be that annoying girlfriend who makes him choose between his mom and me because i would obviously loose. but i feel somewhat uncomfortable. i told him how i felt and he said im being overdramatic and valentines day is like an other day and he already planned it out with his mom so hes not going to cancel on her. basicly what im saying is that if its any other day then why is there a problem bringing his mom out on saturday and me(his actual girlfriend and love of his life) out on actual valentines day? i really need peoples feedback on this because i dont know if im just being a little kid about this or if i should be looking into this situation. i just want a memorable valentines day especially it being my first with a boyfriend.. hope you all can help me figure this out. thanks

Answer:
Dump him. He is a mama's boy, and will get worse if you both end up getting married. You deserve better. Find yourself a real man that will want to spent a romantic Valentine's Day with his sweetheart, which means with you, not with Mommy.
