How do I customize Yahoo homepage?

Does Yahoo customize what stories appear on the Yahoo Homepage based on my browsing history?

I recently set Yahoo as my homepage, and is it just me or are the news stories getting more personalized? Sort of how you get targeted ads based on you search/browsing history, it seems like I'm now getting targeted news stories. And I should clarify that I'm not talking about the "News for you" section of the My Yahoo! page; ca.yahoo.com is the address of the page I'm asking about. When I first set it as my homepage I was always seeing the latest celebrity garbage or pointless non-news stuff like animal videos, but now I'm getting stuff I actually like, sports, tech, actual news, that sort of stuff. Am I getting more personalized stories? Or am I just getting better at ignoring the crap? Thanks

I think there are cookies used in Yahoo and elsewhere that track some of the sites and items you have visited. I see a lot of ads that have similarities to things I looked at from different sites. Also, the sites can detect the IP number of your internet access node. So you will see adds that are customized to the location of that.
