I can log into a yahoo messenger chat room I continue to only receive the list of people entering or leaving?

When I log into a yahoo messenger chat room I continue to only receieve the list of people entering or leaving the chat room and I'm unable to see the chat...... Please help very frustateing

Have you tried typing a message? I tried to view a Yahoo chat room once and it wouldn't let me see the messages until I typed something.
